Everything in the COR program.
One fixed price — $20,000 — covers the complete build, team training, and audit preparation.
- Full health & safety management system (HSMS). A complete manual covering every element your province's COR audit scores — policies, responsibilities, and accountability from owner to new hire.
- Hazard assessment program. Formal hazard assessments for every job type, plus field-level tools your crews use daily.
- Safe work practices & job procedures. A written library covering your trade's critical tasks — built from how your crews actually work, not generic templates.
- Emergency response plans. Site-specific plans, drill schedules, and documentation that stand up in an audit.
- Inspection & maintenance program. Scheduled site, equipment, and vehicle inspections with forms and follow-up tracking.
- Incident reporting & investigation system. Reporting flows and investigation tools that satisfy both your auditor and your WCB.
- Orientation & training matrix. New-hire orientation, role-based training requirements, and records that prove competency.
- Document control & records system. Everything organized the way auditors score it, so evidence is never the thing that fails you.
- Internal auditor development. We guide your internal auditor through their certifying-partner training and coach their first audit.
- Mock COR audit. A full dry run scored against your province's audit instrument, with a corrective plan for every gap.
- External audit support. Documentation package, scheduling help, and support through auditor questions until your COR is issued.
How you get certified.
Most clients go from first call to certificate in 3–6 months.
- Day 1
Free assessment
A 30-minute call to understand your company, your province, and what your clients require. You'll leave knowing exactly what certification you need and what it takes — whether you work with us or not.
- Week 1–2
Gap analysis
We review whatever safety documentation and practices you already have against your province's audit standard and map out everything that's missing.
- Week 2–8
System build
We build your complete safety management system — tailored to your trade, your crew size, and your province's certifying partner. Not a template dump: every document reflects how your company actually works.
- Month 2–4
Training & handover
We train your team to run the system day to day — inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, incident reporting — so your people own and operate it, not us. We also guide the required courses (leadership and internal auditor) with your certifying partner.
- Month 4–5
Mock audit & fixes
Before the real audit, we run your system through the same scoring your auditor will use, then close every gap it finds.
- Month 5–6
Certification audit
You complete your certification audit with your certifying partner. We prepare your documentation package and support you through questions until your certificate is issued.
COR works differently in every province.
Certifying partners, eligibility thresholds, and WCB rebates all vary. See how it works where you are.
COR questions, answered straight.
How long does COR certification take?
Plan on 3–6 months from kickoff to certificate in most provinces. Companies with some existing documentation move faster; starting from zero with a larger crew trends toward six. Ontario is the exception — IHSA's COR 2020 requires your system to be functioning for a year before the audit, so plan 12+ months there and start the clock early.
What does the $20,000 cover?
The complete system build, hands-on training and implementation support, internal auditor coaching, a mock audit, and external audit support. Certifying-partner fees (courses, registration, the external audit itself) are set and billed by your province's partner — we'll lay those out before you commit.
Do you act as our safety officer or do the paperwork for us?
No — and be wary of anyone who offers to. We're consultants: we give you the system, train your people, and get you through the audit. You run the program and complete your own records and paperwork — we make sure you know exactly how. That independence is exactly what auditors and your WCB want to see.
We failed an audit before. Can you fix it?
Yes. Recovery builds are common — we start from your audit report, fix every scored deficiency, and rebuild the weak elements before your re-audit.
Is COR worth it if nobody is forcing us yet?
COR opens tenders that are closed to you today — many owners, GCs, and municipalities screen for it. Most provinces also pay ongoing WCB premium rebates to COR holders, which can return a meaningful chunk of the program cost every year.
12-month financing available on both programs. No long-term contracts.
